23 Public Access Computers

All computers are networked, including 2 laptops with wireless printing and a workstation with a flatbed scanner available. All computers have Microsoft Office 2007 Applications, Internet Access, Misc. "What can I do at a Public Access Computer?"

Printing 10 cents B&W per page, 25 cents color per page.

Meeting Room

Capacity 50. Wireless internet access point in room for excellent WiFi. Meeting room is also equipped for multimedia presentations. Used for library programs, available for use by nonprofit organizations (registration required call 662-9851). 


Study Area and Quiet Reading Room

The Orchard Park Library has spaces available for a variety of uses from quiet study areas to tables for homework help or personal computing.

MOBIL DEVICE CHARGING STATIONS                                                             The Orchard Park Library has recently added two mobile device charging stations so you can charge your device while you work in the library. 




BLACK & WHITE COPY MACHINE                       For your convenience the Orchard Park Library also has a black & white copy machine. Copies are 15 cents each for 8.5 X 11in (letter sized), copies 30 cents each for 8.5 X 14in (legal sized) 


What's Special About the Orchard Park Library

Located adjacent to the historic 1920s Railroad Depot Station, the Orchard Park Library serves southern Erie County as a center for reference and homework help with its large non-fiction collection. It has an extensive fiction, DVD and audio book collection. The children's collection is highlighted by innovative special displays and an interactive play area.  A chessboard is available for public use.

Special programs for all ages, story times for children and computer classes are offered continually.

And finally and most importantly, it is our knowledgeable and responsive staff that makes our library so effective, friendly and welcoming.

Our Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library is the largest and most active Friends group in Erie County. They sponsor the 4th Tuesday speaker series, many of our special children's programs, quarterly donated book sales, an annual rare book sale and ongoing Book Nook, Book Cart and online book sales (  Guidelines for book sale donations may be found here:

Up to five (5) medium sized boxes or bags will be accepted once per day.  Friends have purchased many shelves, display units and other equipment that make this library so special. New members are always welcome. For more information, visit the Friends website:

February Events




Early Bird Toddler Time begins at 10:00 am on Mondays from January 22nd – February 12th  A fun and gentle introduction to reading and group activities geared for children age 2. This program features age appropriate stories, activities, music & movement and a craft. Registration begins Monday, December 18th. Registration is required.    Class is FULL.

Little Later Toddler Time Class begins at 11:00 am on Mondays from January 22nd – February 12th  A fun and gentle introduction to reading and group activities geared for children age 2. This program features age appropriate stories, activities, music & movement and a craft. Registration begins Monday, December 18th. Registration is required.    

Preschool Story Time begins at 10:30am on Tuesdays from January 16th – February 20th Help your child get excited about reading and develop preschool readiness skills at the library! This program features several age appropriate books, and hands-on activities that reinforce the themes of the stories! Get ready for school and have fun at the library! Registration begins Monday, December 18th. Registration is required.   Class is FULL.

Independent Preschool Story Time Sessions are at 10:30am on Thursdays from January 18th – February February 22nd Help your child get excited about reading and develop preschool readiness skills at the library with several age appropriate books, hands-on activities that reinforce the themes of the stories! Children at this story time are encouraged to attend independently while their caregiver enjoys the library! Registration begins Monday December 18th.

Lapsit Story Hours Lapsit begins at 10:30am on Fridays from January 19th – February 23rd.  Class will introduce toddlers ages 6—18 months to reading and group activities from the comfort and security of your lap! Caregivers are encouraged to help their child participate in the age appropriate stories, activities and music. Registration begins Monday December 18th. Registration is required. 

Make it Mondays Mondays January 22nd – February 12th from 4:30-5:30pm. Come check out our mobile maker space. Includes exploring a different theme each week with crafts and experiments. Call for more information. Registration is not required.  

Stuffed Animal Story Time & Sleepover Saturday, February 3rd at 3pm Have you ever wondered what happens at the library at night after everyone goes home? Find out by treating your stuffed animal to a slumber party at the library! Bring a stuffed animal friend to our Stuffed Animal Story Time on Saturday February 3rd at 3pm for bedtime stories, songs, snacks and a fun build-a-bed activity. Kids will tuck in their animals and leave them at the library over night! After kids go home the real fun begins as the animals explore the library at night! Kids are invited to pick up their stuffed animals from the sleepover any time after 12 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. At pickup each child will receive a custom photo book of their animal’s antics to take home. Open to children & stuffed animals of all ages.  Program is FULL.

Registration is required and will begin on January 13th.

 Parent & Child Yoga Wednesday February 14th at 6:30pm. Yoga is a great way to bond with your little one. Join a certified Yoga instructor at the Orchard Park Library for some relaxing yoga before bedtime! For Parent with child aged 6 & under. Registration is required. Read to Maisy! Register to read to Maisy, a certified Therapy Dog through the SPCA's Paws for Love program. Pick out a book and practice reading out loud to a good listener in the meeting room at the Orchard Park Library. Maisy will be available on Tuesday February 27th from 6:30-8:10PM. Sign up for your personal 20 minute reading session with Maisy today! Call 662-9851 to register.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie family story time on Thursday February 15th at 6:30pm. Best suited for ages 3-6. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie… what happens next? Find out when we explore the world of Laura Numeroff! This program is all about Laura Numeroff books; we will read several of her stories and see how circle stories work. Participants will also get to play games and make crafts based on characters’ favorite foods and activities in the books. Registration is required, please call to sign up.

LEGO Club! Saturday February 10th at 1pm. Join in to complete LEGO challenges and explore a different LEGO theme every month! For children 5 and up.  Sign up begins on the first day of each month. 

Tiny Tinkerers Wednesday February 21st at 2pm. Explore & More Children’s Museum of East Aurora brings their custom Tiny Tinkering program to the library! Kids will visit different construction themed stations including using Geo-Mags, a “Rig-A-Ma-Jig”, Nuts & Bolts and a life-sized Imagination Playground. This program is for kids ages 4-10. Registration is required.

Valentine Crafts – Saturday February 10th at 2pm in the Library! Join us to make a some fun valentine crafts! Crafts are suitable for children ages 3-10. Sign up begins on January 20th. 


***ALL AGES***

Chess Workshop Sunday February 18th from 2pm-4pm Learn techniques of the game with this two hour long workshop taught by official USCF Coach Michael McDuffie! Chess boards and pieces will be provided, please bring a pad of paper and a pencil. Registration is required. 



BookendS Teen Book Club Teen book club meets Wednesday, February 28th at 7:00PM. It is open to teens in grades 5-12. BookendS meetings will consist of talking about a book we all read, eating snacks and doing activities based on the book and voting on the following month's book. Teen service opportunities at the library will also be discussed. Registration is not required.  

BookendS Teen Service Group

**Attention Teens in grades 5 & up**

The Orchard Park Library needs teen volunteers interested in completing community service to run a monthly children's craft program! In January the program will be winter-themed crafts and activities.  It will take place on Saturday, February 10th from 2PM-3PM. Teens can sign up to prepare crafts from 11AM to 2PM, to run the children's program from 2PM-3PM and to clean up from 3PM-4PM. Teens can sign up to participate in this community service opportunity in 1 hour shifts, for a maxiumum of 5 hours of service. Volunteer space is limited, and all volunteers must fill out a volunteer application if they have never volunteered at the library before. Volunteers new to the BookendS Service Group must also have a brief orientation with Kasey Mack the supervising librarian. Please call 662-9851 for more information. 



BPOvations presents Evolution of the Modern Orchestra featuring Associate Principal bassist Brett Shurtliffe. Monday February 5th at 6:30PM. Brett Shurtliffe explains the progression from the earliest orchestral ensembles to today’s symphony orchestra. With a focus on his own instrument’s predecessor, the ancient viol, Brett will share his insights on how the advancing technological capabilities and the changing social constructs of the times led to the orchestra we know and love today. The BPO, in cooperation with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries, presents a chance to get to know your Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on a personal level. These free talks given by BPO musicians give an intimate look inside the BPO while providing a basis of knowledge about the orchestral world.

Book a Tech Trainer Tuesday February 13th from 1pm-4pm. Need computer assistance? We can help! These free 45 minute sessions are designed to assist with software support or internet training. Registration is required.

Knitting Club meets every Wednesday at 7:30pm. This meeting is open to the public and can accommodate all skill levels. If you've never knitted before and don't know where to begin, we can help! We have needles and yarn and experienced staff to help you get started. No registration is required.
